Description
In 1812, Independent Royal Arch Lodge No. 2 presented Nicholas Roome (1775–1824) with this handsome Past Master’s jewel. The engraved jewel represented the lodge’s gratitude for Roome’s leadership of the group from 1809 through 1811. Roome’s jewel cost Independent Royal Arch Lodge $75, a significant sum in 1812.
